So excited you came back today. Looking back at these picture bring the best memories.
When I see good light, I can’t refrain myself. I make my kids sit down and grab a shot or two…or ten
They have a night called the Steak Fry night. All the kids get on these awesome vintage firetrucks and they drive us nearby to some property to have a fun dinner. A group of adults get to run the horses through the elk fields on the way there and on the way back. I didn’t run them this year. I am with Lilly, horses kinda scare me just a little but I enjoy a nice slow ride 😉
Cade loves his Uncle Catfish
me + my momma <3
I think I found a new photography assistant!
One of my favorite parts of our trip was a little date day Steven and I shared. We went hiking to the top of the Jewel Basin. The trail was challenging especially since it isn’t something we were used to but we made it part of our Ironman training 🙂
Ya’ll it was breathtaking. SO beautiful.
You could see where the fires had happened
As soon as we got back the kids were riding and doing the kids rodeo.
Every year, my favorite craft the kids make happen to be the family tree.
My oldest brother Hank and his sweet family.
I love this picture of Wendy
Steven bet me that I wouldn’t clog at the barn dance….of course I did…..
…until I realized that I am a lot older now and have had children and I basically all but peed myself and had to run off the dance floor to the bathroom….hahah
Learning the line dances were so much fun!
Steven had me dancing all over the place. I don’t even know what that was about but it was so fun!
I even dragged my momma out on the dance floor
Lilly got private lessons and learned how to wakeboard while we were there. She was such a champ! She got up the very first time! The water was freezing cold and it was even raining that day but that didn’t dampen her spirits! I mean, could you have a more gorgeous backdrop to learn how to wakeboard?
When she got out of the water she was shivering and had blue lips. She needed some snuggles but did such a great job!
When we got back to the Lodge, Lilly showed me her completed family trees. Notice our dogs and cat on the big one! haha
Cousins and sisters make the best friends
One of the last nights we had an adult penning contest. My family is ridiculously competitive. We had to be divided into teams of 3. Me, Hank Jr and Billy were a team called ‘The Outlaws’ and Wendy, Steven and Laura all were a team called ‘The In Laws.’ The In Laws just beat us so bad it was pitiful.
My brother Billy is quite possibly one of the greatest guys on the planet.
Well, it was bound to happen. One of my kids (Ellie) got in trouble and had some time out time with mom. We went to go talk and look at horses though, so that’s not a terrible punishment right? Well, Miss Pouty Pants thought so.
Ellie got her attitude in check and was allowed to participate in the kids activites that day. They all did kids rodeo activities.
This is one of my favorite images of Ellie
I definitely like non-looking at the camera images better but I love this one too and can’t decide.
Lilly and I went up beside the barn to play some basketball. She takes after her daddy, she is basically a natural at all sports.
Last day we always do family pictures. It is always really hard to get everyone together (even two of my brothers had to miss this vacay)
and a crazy kids picture
Mimi and the crazy grandbabies
Poppy and his fabulous crew.
Mom and Jim are like teenage lovers. They are ridiculously cute together.

This is unreal right? The crescent moon and the star beside it. Montana. You are something special. That is for sure.
We kinda couldn’t stop. We were trying different perspectives. Actually it was more of a competition between Steven and I, who could get the best shot 🙂 competitive much?
At night inside the big lodge, you would find us all here, playing card games, sipping on wine and simply being.
Life is good when you are with your family and it is even better when you’re in Montana at the Lodge.
